All nonprofits play a role that is vital to a democracy, advocacy is usually used as a way to help the members of the community that the non profit is aiding. In terms of my CP, The Ecumenical Hunger Program, i'm sure they are no different. Their programs include food services, support and referrals like programs where residents can be paired with a lawyer to receive legal advice, as well as youth programs. In terms of encouraging legislative changes, I don't think that my CP has done that specifically.
